Anyone living in Comal County or any of the counties touching Comal County may enter this contest.

Entries will be accepted on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Judging will begin the same day, September 23rd at 6:00pm and continue until all entries have been judged.

All entries must be approved and accepted by the screening committee and/or the Chairperson. The Chairperson’s decision is final.

All entries must be picked up on Sunday, September 27th, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. OR Monday, September 28th, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

Due to space and display limitations, all entries/exhibits will be limited to a maximum of FOUR (4) entries per person present on Wednesday, September 23rd at time of entry. This limit means one entry per category and a total of FOUR (4) entries per person present. NO EXCEPTIONS Chairperson’s decision is final.

Do not use “Plant Shine” or any other chemical cleaner on plants.Use of chemicals will disqualify plants from entry. Plants may be cleaned with WATER ONLY.

All cut flowers must be in a sturdy non breakable DISPOSABLE CONTAINER, such as a soda or water bottle. No glass containers will be allowed.

Grouping of small items will be counted as a single entry, per chairperson’s decision. They will not be separated and counted as multiple entries without prior approval of the screening committee or the chairperson. The chairperson’s decision is final.

Plants will be judged according to quality, appearance, proportion to container and trueness to form. The judge’s decision is final.

This is an amateur show only. An amateur is one who grows plants for pleasure only at home and not at a commercial place or for commercial intent. Plants must have been grown by the exhibitor, for at least three (3) months before the fair. 

All plants will be screened for insects and disease. If insects or disease are present, the plant will immediately be removed from the Fairgrounds by the owner.

It is the owners/exhibitors’ RESPONSIBILITY to water plants throughout the duration of the fair, not the Comal County Fair Association (CCFA).

Tri Color ribbons and trophies will be awarded along with blue, red and white ribbons.

13) Junior Division: 18 and under

14) Fruit Vegetable/Trees (to include peppers)
