Wednesday, Sept. 27 - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 28 - 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 29 - 12 noon to l0 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 30 - l0 a.m. to l0 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 1 - 12 noon to 5 p.m.

*Pictures will be taken Saturday, September 30 at a time to be announced.

Pigeon Show Rules:

1) Entries will be accepted at the fairgrounds between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept.27th.

2) All entries will be free of disease or parasites. The poultry committee will coop all birds. Parasitic or sick entries will be rejected.

3) First, second, third, and fourth place ribbons will be offered in each breed. If, in the opinion of the judge, the entries in any breed are not worthy, the judge can make such awards in keeping with the quality of the entry. Each breed will be judged separately and only first place winners will compete for prize money.

4) Each exhibitor will receive one (1) day admission pass per bird to the fairgrounds good for all days of the fair, not to exceed six (6) one day admission passes per exhibitor.

5) The Fair Association will furnish feed and water unless other arrangements are made with the committee.

6) All entries must be removed from the fairgrounds between 5 and 7 pm. Sunday, Oct.1st. There will be no one at the Poultry Barn on Monday, Oct. 2nd. The Fair Association is not responsible for entries not picked up by 7 p.m. on Oct.1st. No entries will be released before 5 p.m., Oct. 1st.

THERE MUST BE 10 BIRDS COMPETING IN A CLASS TO WIN A TROPHY OR PRIZE MONEY IN PIGEON SHOW.

Poultry Show Rules:

The Comal County Fair Association sponsors a show for persons who like to raise backyard chickens. The birds do not have to be pure bred, must be in good condition and be free of disease and pests and must have a current Pullorum-Typhoid (P/T) test.

1) Entries will be accepted at the rear of the Poultry Barn at the fairgrounds between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 27.

2) Each exhibitor will receive one pass per bird to the fairgrounds good for any day of the fair, not to exceed six passes per exhibitor.

3) Birds without a P/T test, birds that show obvious disease or birds that have parasites will not be accepted. The decision of the Superintendent will be final.

4) All poultry must originate from Pullorum Typhoid clean sources and must be accompanied by a certificate of source or purchase. The Comal County Fair Association is required to bar from exhibition any poultry not accompanied by a certificate of source or purchase.NO TESTING WILL BE DONE THE DAY OF THE FAIR ALL BIRDS MUST BE TESTED PRIOR TO THE SHOW. The phone number for the testing agent in the area is 830-556-0943. If available, he/she will come to your residence and test your flock at no charge. The Pullorum-Typhoid flock test is valid for one year from the date of the last test and that willallow the participant to show in the fair.

5) No turkey or waterfowl entries will be accepted.

6) All entries must be removed from the fairgrounds between 5 and 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct 1. There will be no one at the Poultry Barn on Monday, Oct 2. The Fair Association is not responsible for entries not picked up by 7 p.m. on Oct 1. No entries will be removed before 5 p.m. Oct 1.
